Process Mapping
Process Mapping

A Process Mapping provides a preliminary assessment identifying an organization's development process documentation strengths and weaknesses and results in recommendations for improvement. A Process Mapping evaluates the extent to which the organization's process documentation satisfies the specific and generic practices of the Capability Maturity Model® Integration (CMMI®).

AIS reviews and compares the process documentation with the goals and specific and generic practices of the CMM. The mapping created from this analysis identifies which process documents contribute to the satisfaction of each specific and generic practice within the model and documents whether each goal is satisfied. AIS reviews the documented findings and recommendations with appropriate stakeholders and management.

A Process Mapping provides a clear understanding of the process documents that support each specific and generic practice, and identifies where there may be gaps. It provides detailed process analysis at a fraction of the cost of a formal assessment (20%) when an official CMMI Maturity or Capability Level Rating is not required. Cost is dependent on the scope of the assessment.
