Process Implementation
Process implementation causes defined processes to be performed routinely resulting in institutionalization throughout the organization. Process implementation assembles a whole product consisting of communication, process training and mentoring, tool training, support mechanisms, metrics, and infrastructure for continuous improvement in addition to the process definition itself.
AIS first evaluates the implementation needs of the organization. Based on these needs AIS performs any of the following implementation activities as appropriate:
- Organize pilots to identify shortcomings, demonstrate early success, and increase buy-in.
- Develop relationships and maintain ongoing communication with all levels of the organization including management. AIS coordinates with all groups involved with or affected by the implementation. AIS uses management of changes techniques including identification and involvement of sponsors, advocates, champions, and stakeholders.
- Develop and deliver customized process and tool training, and mentor practitioners in using the processes.
- Manage or supplement Process Action Teams and help the organization create a process support infrastructure.
- Define metrics to monitor critical process information enabling the organization to make more effective decisions. AIS uses the Goal-Question-Metric approach to explicitly define measurements and ensure that they tie back to high-level organizational objectives.
- Develop the organization, processes, and tools to ensure that the implemented processes continue to adapt to the changing business environment.
AIS process implementation services ensure that process change and culture change are managed. The whole product approach to process implementation enables the end-users of the target processes to quickly and effectively apply the process and ensures that the organization's process improvement effort is a success.
