SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT

The AIS Development Group provides custom software development for client/server, internet/intranet, e-business and embedded applications. Project teams use AIS defined and measurable processes to manage the project and projects are staffed with Personal Software ProcessSM (PSPSM) trained software engineers who use disciplined methods to plan, track and improve the quality of their own work. The teams work closely with the customer to deliver total solutions beginning with concept exploration or requirements through to installation of the system.

Capability
AIS process capability has been assessed at a Capability Maturity Model® (CMM®) Level 5. The Personal Software Process (PSP) has been integrated into AIS processes. Teams of AIS people use continuously optimized processes to consistently deliver products on schedule with no acceptance test defects.

Projects
Using process and technology, AIS has developed solutions for projects such as:
  • An Intranet application providing information on products and parts with a web-enabled three-tier client-server architecture.
  • Development of real-time embedded subsystems, which monitor and display machine conditions and parameters with software that utilizes embedded applications for 32-bit electronic control modules.
  • A uniform, effective, and systematic order entry and billing system providing a centralized database. A client-server application using Visual Basic for the front end and SQL Server for the back end.
  • A business management system that allows customers world-wide in real-time to view invoices, forecast the impact of plan changes, plan budgets and make timely business decisions. An Intranet application developed using PL/SQL, JavaScript, and Oracle.
  • A windows based tool to configure and analyze various sensors that are installed within refrigeration units.
International Recognition
The AIS Development Group was the recipient of the most prestigious award for software process, the 1999 IEEE/Software Engineering Institute (SEI) Award for Software Process Achievement based on "sustained, measured, and significant improvement to the organizational software process". AIS was acknowledged for achieving predictable results for effort, schedule, and quality.
