AWARDS AND RECOGNITION
On January 23, 2001 Illinois Governor George Ryan announced AIS as the winner of the Governor's Entrepreneurial Success Award. The award, presented to AIS CEO Girish Seshagiri and AIS President Patricia Ferguson, recognized AIS' commitment to strengthening the Illinois community and acknowledged its great potential for becoming a large business. "They represent the very best of Illinois' entrepreneurial spirit," Ryan said. The awards program is administered by the Illinois Department of Commerce and Community Affairs and is designed to complement the U.S. Small Business Administration's Award Program.
1999 IEEE Software Process Achievement Award
The AIS Development Group was the recipient of the most prestigious award for software process, the 1999 IEEE/Software Engineering Institute (SEI) Award for Software Process Achievement. AIS was acknowledged for "exceptional work in applying and tailoring the principles of continuous process improvement to enhance quality, productivity, and customer satisfaction, as well as institutionalizing process improvement in the development of software and the provision of consulting, training, and the infrastructure-support services." Former winners include NASA, Hughes Aircraft, and Raytheon.
Blue Chip Enterprise Award
The U.S. Chamber of Commerce and MassMutual recognized AIS as the 1999 Illinois State Honoree of the Blue Chip Enterprise Award. This recognized AIS for "successfully managing resources, being committed to excellence, and emerging stronger in an adverse environment."
Power of Minority Business Excellence Award
In 1999, AIS was recognized as one of the outstanding businesses in Illinois with the Power of Minority Business Excellence award. The award was sponsored by the Illinois Chamber of Commerce and Illinova. AIS was nominated for the award by Caterpillar Inc.

- Best Paper Award in the first SEPG (Software Engineering Process Group) conference in Asia, held February 26-27, 1999.
